Meeting Minutes
November 17, 2005
Ponca State Park
River Bluff Room
Commissioners in attendance: Hull, Johnson, Curran, Ruth, Slader, and Schmidt.
Staff in attendance: Emanuel, Swenson and Bastemeyer.
Special Guests/Advisors in attendance: Bat Shunantona, Ernie Ricehill, and Vic Gutman.
Commissioners not in attendance: Mitchell, gaiashkibos, Moulton, Smith, Stokes, Wehrbein, and Williams.
A quorum was not satisfied.
Chairman Ron Hull called the meeting to order at 10:18 a.m. Because a quorum was not met the meeting was conducted as an executive committee meeting.
Those in attendance received a report from Vic Gutman, with further elaboration by Ernie Ricehill and questions by those present. All those present were encouraged to comment, and all commented in support of the report.
Chairman Report:
Hull stated that the executive committee met with the Governor on October 12, 2005. Those present at the meeting outlined the commission’s plans for 2006. Governor is supportive of the commission.
Executive Director Report:
Swenson discussed his trip to the “Destination Pacific” Signature Event. He stated that there was a charge for every event/activity.
Swenson handed out minutes from the COSA meeting held on November 10, 2005 in Astoria, OR (Fort Clastop).
The National Park Service is accepting applications for the 2006 Challenge Cost Share program. The deadline is January 15, 2006. There is only $2.5 million available. After 2006 the CCS program will more than likely go away.
